Inspire athletes to aspire to academic excellence

Category : Uncategorized

If coaches are true mentors of a generation then they will inspire athletes to excel academically.

Inspire athletes to aspire to academic excellence.

Playing a sport well does not make you a better person but the many lessons from athletics carry forward through life. In-fact the most important lessons of sport are summarised within the first few minutes of my classes:

• Principles never have a price-tag
• Doing what is ‘right’ is never wrong
• Honour, Commitment and Loyalty

If that is what you retain from sport then we all have ‘won’ and better off then every gold medal and championship in history.

Pursue excellence and build a foundation of ethics.

For young athletes pay particular attention to your academic studies and pay little attention to those who consider otherwise.

For coaches, prioritise academic excellence with your athletes and remember we are forging leaders of tomorrow.

A healthy start to a better life

Category : Uncategorized

Proactive health management is a trying puzzle for many as though they possess the desire the modern lifestyle is a ‘recipe’ for poor habits. By entrenching small positive patterns of behaviour daily an individual can quickly see lifestyle habits shift with the resulting improvement in general health. Though progress may appear to be slow a compliance friendly plan allows the individual a sense of accomplishment each day and thus starts the wheel in motion for a better quality of life.

Part of these ‘small steps’ includes a simple yet profound approach to breakfast. Whilst it is far from ‘sexy’ within an era that has erroneously mistaken ‘likes’ and ‘shares’ as a currency, this approach to breakfast has extraordinary merit and lends to a healthy lifestyle that need not change.

• Upon rising, drink a tonic of warm water, non-pasteurised honey (local sources) and a ¼ slice of lemon.

• Consume healthy breakfast of porridge with a spoonful of almond or peanut butter, farm fresh eggs, fruit, water and black coffee.
