Flight to Quality

Category : Uncategorized

The greatest stretch of song and dance marketing the modern exercise industry ever pulled off was convincing the public, albeit with a great amount of assistance with the spinning of information online through various media channels and ever-present affiliate programs, was that it was about health, fitness or sports development.

Truthfully the modern exercise industry is less about satisfying the overall fitness and health needs of the public and instead focused upon spinning the web of deceit that results in unnecessary equipment in the marketplace and sees the cost of services grotesquely inflated. The end result of this white noise is the public is no closer to a healthy lifestyle than before and many fine quality coaches leave the business as their services are not appreciated or compensated appropriately.

Whilst many online will discuss burgeoning publishing habits and the ease of releasing an e-book, the trend few hear discussed is deciding to not publish and ensure your innovations are not bastardised by savvy internet marketers that have irreparably harmed this sector. The hellish catch 22 flies straight in the adage of “publish or perish” but with a sector so remarkably “dumbed down” choices are few and answers not so clear cut.

The answer to this problem is not easy to secure but in time economic forces will swing the pendulum back and quality professionals, assuming they have continued their education and not bought into the ongoing drivel and positioned themselves within the latest trend, will prevail.

The Dawn of a New Frontier

Category : Uncategorized

One of the great problems of the modern exercise climate is that the public has been convinced that a draconian training regime suits their needs best. Through clever marketing this virus as grown and vast stretches of the exercise world are simply hideously designed training plans, rife with phrases and hooks to entice the public with users then walking the razors edge line of serious injury in their pursuits.

This is the sad reality of the exercise world and given tumbling standards within the training profession and the publics’ willingness to buy into glitch and glamour, the likelihood of a reversal is not forthcoming in the mainstream.

Any fool can develop an exercise regime that fails to comprehend the energy cycle and by evidence, many have and with the backdrop of a massive advertising budget, which includes subversive efforts in social media and the vested interest of affiliate programs, the public continues to soak up this drivel.

For true professionals who wish to assist their community this is a maddening riddle without any discernable answer and for that chief reason I decided to release a new series of books under the “Renegade X” banner as well as offer continuing education classes.

This 15 September my thirteenth book, “The Dawn of a New Frontier” will be available and I trust it will answer questions within the exercise sector of theories that I in-fact developed and later saw twisted by the industry in its on-going efforts to coerce the public to open its wallet. This book series is available at an extremely low cost, frankly well below the required time investment, and meant to serve the public and profession.

I hope to see my readers and all exercise professionals make good use of its contents and once and for all correct the madness of industry that is void of standards.

Sow the seed for a better future

In my opinion the term “educator” is one of the highest compliments you can be bestowed. It can come in many forms, from the teacher at the head of a class, a leader in the community providing a faith driven message and the humbling beauty of a parent reading to a child. Of the former, those who stand at the head of a classroom, they are gardeners nurturing the next generation and it is long past due they are accorded the unconditional respect of pillars of our community.

Such a comment on a page that involves the health, fitness and sport conditioning community may seem peculiar but in-fact “educator” was once the underlying theme of a “coach”. Unfortunately this is rarely the case now as the mentorship of coaches, using sport as a birthing ground for important character traits, has been traded in for a “win at all costs” mentality of what is nothing more than a low grade exercise instructor.

The problems of sport do not rest solely in the hands of athletes but the lack of leadership in the profession of coaching and the failure to understand we have the power to positively influence the future.

Sow the seed for a better future.

Bright Promises, Dismal Performance – part 2

Category : Uncategorized

The irony of the sports media vilifying an athlete for circumventing rules is not missed as they themselves feast on society’s ridiculous obsession with sport. Without said obsession, the sports media would return to a sensible time but those days are long gone and not to return.

Truthfully, much of the true value of sport has dissipated from sport as “character building” aspects are pushed aside and “win at all costs” reigns supreme. Rules and once common codes of conduct are ignored should an individual play a sport well and the public supports this with their cheque books in virtually every avenue imaginable.

Sadly throughout my lifetime, the fascination with sport has grown and the public is accepts poor conduct as collateral damage for sporting success. You are not a “better person” because you play a sport well but that notion is rarely considered and the opposite reinforced daily through action.

Before the public casts guilt at athletes and their obvious indiscretions, the crooked finger of guilt needs to be cast towards the mirror. “You” created the problem and will deal with repercussions throughout your lifetime as those who “win at all costs” will lose in the end.
