Amongst the endless parade of “expert advice” within the modern iron-game, or at-least the media arm, the overwhelming majority of training is far too complicated and fails to utilise the classic resistance movements. The reason for this, though rarely said in public, is not to technological developments or new findings but simply because classic movements are considered lacking marketing sex appeal, many simply cannot perform due to poor fitness and inadequate coaching.

the simple approach to building powerful legs

Often the most straight forward route to goal achievement is for some maddening reason or another is avoided. While I tend to believe it is because in this “age of information” a great deal of attention is directed towards gaining attention in the media and basically everyone trying to sound like an “expert”, often the simplest route is the most effective and appropriate to the needs of the individual.

The simple fact is that while much of the media attention in the fitness and health industry is directed to “pretty machines” or anything else garner readers, the broadest of majority require very basic measures.

Through the years, the many travels and the stresses and strains of life, “the iron” has been a constant. It is challenging, perplexing and rewarding in the simplest of ways and taught me so many things.

In my youth it reinforced my fathers teaching of a determination and “no hill to tough” but in a manner that stressed maturation and the future is in your hands. Hands stinging from the feel of cold metal in the morning, boyish youth is overtaken by a man emerging who believes and knows, I can and I will.
