Category : John Davies, Training, USP Labs

Through the now fifty-one previous editions of the “USPlabs Iron Day” we have been able to provide our readers a broad array of training regimes to reflect their goals. Whether interest lay in strength and bodybuilding pursuits, weight loss, needs of the military and law enforcement community or athletics, these training guides can serve as a tremendous blueprint towards goal achievement.

This effort came about due to radically improved technology that allows us to communicate with readers to which we are ability to quickly respond to their needs. With an open line of communication via Twitter, Google+ and Facebook we have been able to provide up-to-date information on efficient exercise approaches and ensure all readers utilize USPlabs products just as I have to their utmost.

This commitment to providing information has taken a tremendous leap forward with the very recent release of the USPlabs | Ultra Premium Supplements educational library which houses considerable videos on proper exercise technique and suitable for virtually every method of training. As we push forward with the USPlabs Iron Day we will be making great use of these videos and I invite you to share with your friends.

As per our original intent of the USPlabs Iron Day, each Friday we will provide a daily training program (per reader choice), with a follow up supplement protocol on Facebook. Readers would cast their vote via Twitter (through either direct message or the “@” function) or Facebook and decide the topic.

Our choice for this week’s comes via Twitter and a member of the TestPowder beta testers who wishes to increase his Squat and overall leg power.

building fluidity and strength for the lifelong athlete

Category : John Davies, Training, USP Labs

The modern exercise field is a mighty confusing lot when compared from its historical past. At each turn of the page the present-day is a pale shadow of itself from my memories as where once was the bastion of mighty men who lived life to the fullest and a group more concerned with marketing and simply “looking fit”

Where this leads us in the modern game is to resurrect the lifelong athlete who is fit, strong and physically active outside of the gymnasium. This requires men and women who possess the physical and moral strength that will help shift society to a better way of life of which participating in healthy activities is a key component. The lifelong athlete is strong, capable, honest, hard-working, looks you in the eye for believing in the nobility of what they have accomplished and show pride not merely in their immediate work but building a better tomorrow.

building the foundation the Summer of Shred

Category : John Davies, Training, USP Labs

Understandably as many focus upon losing weight they lose track of the ultimate goal of exercise which is to improve the quality of life. Quite naturally this is a natural habit to fall into given the lack of commentary from the industry itself and focus upon quick fix solutions to weight loss goals. However make no mistake as a well planned exercise regime, diet and supplementation plan will not only help you achieve your immediate goals but stretch into never every facet of your life throughout your days.

Exercise can and should improve the quality of life, not simply say because of a smaller waistline or greater muscle mass but due to the fact that allows you to be more active. Whether you are a Powerlifter who likes to go hiking or an athlete who takes up Surfing, exercise should be tool in building a healthier physique that allows you to participate in activities outside the gymnasium.

The last point rings true to the “Summer of Shred” effort as you are not only shedding excess bodyweight but further developing good dietary practices and enjoying (yes, enjoying) an exercise routine that builds a solid foundation for a healthy physique. Within a solid foundation, the “form and function” of exercise will not be met.

increasing muscularity in the Summer of Shred

Category : John Davies, Training, USP Labs

As you press forward towards your weight loss goals in the “Summer of Shred” there are a number of key prongs in the attack, including a dietary and nutritional supplement plan and of-course exercise regime. Within the latter the typical error in weight loss circles is endless bouts of exercises that fall under the “cardiovascular” focus that do not properly manage a balanced strength development approach.

A balanced strength plan is not say the typical black-shirt bravado laced tirade and marketing phraseology that has weighed-down the strength and conditioning sector since the internet revolution. Strength training is fun, suitable for every level and age contrary to the endless advertisements does not require expensive equipment.

Modern Monday “recovery and fat reduction” workout

Category : John Davies, Training, USP Labs

The greatest if not peculiar problem in the modern exercise community is its lack of physical activity outside the gymnasium. Exercise is meant to better the quality of your life and not be final stop in activity, hence to be fit means you are capable of embracing physical activities outside the gymnasium. The quest of “total health” should not only attain your immediate goals in this “summer of shred” but help you towards lifelong health of which physical activities with family and friends is a component. Whether playing sports in a community league, walking, hiking or biking with family as well as a multitude of activities, make the summer of 2012 a time for a new lease on healthy living.

However to achieve this goal we must “turn the screw” within exercise approaches for a better overall conditioning level that additionally facilitates quicker recovery from exercise. By being more physically active in the days before and after major training sessions, along with adding a proper supplement and dietary plan, recovery will accelerate and you will be closer to your goals.
